The East Cascades Oak Partnership is catalyzing oak habitat restoration and conservation throughout this unique region with funding from federal, state, and private grant programs in Washington and Oregon. This work includes a $7.1 million dollar award from the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, which is fueling restoration actions from the removal of encroaching conifers and unnaturally accumulated fuels, to invasive weed treatments, prescribed burning, and native plantings on thousands of acres of the Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon State Parks, Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, ODFW White River Wildlife Area, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation, and on private lands. Restoration takes more than boots on the ground. The partnership is also providing technical assistance and outreach support to help partners prepare for and implement successful restoration projects.
ECOP develops resources and tools specific to the unique ecology of our region, empowering people to make informed decisions in East Cascades oak habitats.
