Area: 60,349 acres

Preventing fragmentation of connected landscapes is a critical part of ECOP’s conservation strategy and the landscape’s climate resilience. Columbia Land Trust and other partners are collaborating to protect tens of thousands of acres of key habitat and working forest to permanently prevent conversion to non-forest uses and fragmentation of existing connected habitat. These investments ensure species will have room to adapt across elevation, precipitation, and temperature gradients as climate conditions continue to shift. Additionally, working forest conservation easements will help stabilize the natural resource economy.
