Our Work

Engaging people with East Cascades Oaks

People’s relationships with the land give this region its character. Understanding how people interact with oak systems and what they need from the oak landscape helps us find conservation solutions that work. We believe that our 25 partners and 320+ ECOP members are the most effective ambassadors for deploying our outreach strategies, so many of our approaches focus on supporting partner and member ability to do impactful outreach.

The following strategies are the foundations of our outreach:

  • Help people learn about and care for oak systems.
  • Elevate all voices—allow people across communities to share their values and see those values reflected in our conservation strategies and outreach.
  • Connect folks with the tools and knowledge needed to improve outcomes for oak systems.
  • Build social license for implementation of priority restoration strategies.
